Malone There is not a way of advertising that (/) state wide. We mailed out <br />430 application. <br />Fisher And, if somebody qualified that is black come through here they will <br />be looked at seriously for that job. <br />Malone That is up to the City Council. <br />Harris Another thing I want to add, and we have done this when we have <br />applicants who we have received applications from all the time, <br />whether they had a job or not, it is very critical when you have got <br />to get applications that you have a job then, because if you don't, <br />somebody snatches them up. <br />Armstrong I think that the very fact that we have this committee, and some <br />wonderful ideas have been shared, I think that this number three, <br />we have to. Part of the recommendation we make is that the city <br />consider funding this effort, whether it is in the development of a <br />recruitment process utilizing some if the ideas that are used at Paris <br />Jr. College as a school district, whatever, and that we actively <br />began to develop an awareness, whether it is the three firemen's <br />job, or for whatever jobs that are coming up, the City Attorney. If we <br />have been doing something, and now we are saying that we want to <br />do something that can hopefully help us be more effective in our <br />desire for diversity, and let's get on with it. We have got to began, <br />and we need to do more in recruitment and they need to have some <br />money to do it, and that is what I see as coming up with some kind <br />of recommendation to the Council that will involve a more <br />intensified effort and the money to do it. <br />Malone How much money do you think we should. <br />Armstrong It is not a full time position, certainly, but it might be apart of a staff <br />already in existence, or make it an outside consultant. <br />Fisher They call me all the time wanting to relocate on my own job, okay. <br />They will find you somebody. I had three positions for monitoring <br />Tech. because it started out all of them graduated from the Myson's <br />Nursing School. I was going to interview for eight people for those <br />
