Minority Recruitment Committee Meeting <br />August 7, 1999 <br />Page 9 <br />about everything that went on, and if Mr. Malone and his staff can come <br />up with something that this entire Committee can agree on, that would <br />be fine. Chairman Fisher said Mr. High has some very intelligent <br />suggestions today. Chairman Fisher felt that the Committee should <br />think about this matter, and come back with some very good <br />suggestions, and further advised that another meeting would be <br />scheduled at a later date. <br />Mr. Webb informed the Committee that the third weekend in January, <br />Texas A & M is having a Southwestern Black Leadership Conference <br />in College Station. There will be anywhere for 1,500 to 2,000 blacks <br />there at this conference. This might be something that the City would <br />like to check into. Mr. Webb also said there will be one in San Marcos <br />in April. <br />Chairman Fisher informed the Committee that Mr. Malone and his staff <br />would be bringing a proposal for the Committee to look at. <br />There being no further business, a motion was made by Mr. Armstrong, <br />seconded by Councilman Be, to adjourn the meeting.
