March 18, 1987 Minucs <br />Paris Public Library <br />Advisory Board Meeting <br />page 2 of <br />Ms. Williams futher reported that the first summer reading program <br />will be held on June 18th at 2:30 p.m. in Bywaters Park. <br />She said that the bid for furniture made in Mexico by Steel Stacks had <br />been approved by the City Council and the furniture will be delivered and <br />installed as soon as the carpet is laid. <br />Dick Boots said that the "Dial -a-Story" equipment is out of order and <br />since there are approximately 80,000 calls a year that the equipment should be <br />replaced as part of the new furnishings. <br />Ms. Williams reported that Roslyn Sample was attending a Library <br />Workshop on "Costing Library Services ", in Greenville today. She asked <br />for volunteers to attend a Literacy National Seminar at Mt. Pleasant on June 23 <br />from 7 to 9:30 p.m. which Hugh Downs and Barbara Rush will host, noting the need <br />for a literacy program at the Paris Public Library. <br />In closing Ms. Williams said that moving the books will be a big undertaking <br />and that volunteer help is being solicited, and praised the staff for their work. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 5 p.m. <br />Date Approved: <br />m <br />Francis Ellis, Secretary <br />
