Ms. Lewis said the memorial book for Janice Hooker would
be One Hundred Over 100. She also advised that Mrs.
Hooker had generously willed $5,000 to the Library. The
Board agreed the money would go to the endowment fund and
Bill Hagood will talk to the City about the matter.
Jackie Alsobrook reported she and Bill Neely and Joe Rex,
the Committee for county funding, had decided it would be
best to wait until after the City budget had been settled
before approaching them again, but that the request and
effort to get the county to assist in library funding
should come from the City, and if not, Ms. Lewis should
investigate options for charging a circulation fee to
county patrons.
Mrs. Wood reported the November 2 book review luncheon at
the Paris Golf and Country Club had only 17 tickets left,
and everyone was being told to pay in advance, and no
refunds. She showed the Library tote bag with the picture
of the Library on the front and these will be sold for $10
at the luncheon. She said letters had gone out to
everyone attending the last luncheon and the response had
been good, adding to the number of Friends members.
Ms. Lewis said the automation committee should meet soon
because automation is still needed and that $38,000 item
in the budget was cut by the City Manager.
Mrs. Gibson moved officers be re- elected, motion seconded
and passed.
Meeting adjourned at 5 PM.
01 X-116&
Date Appro ed Frances Ellis, Secretary
