Ms. Lewis discussed the status of automation, saying the City's cut <br />in the 1992 -1993 budget caused the deletion of the request for the <br />$38,000 needed from the City to purchase the automated system. She <br />felt that library automation would happen because it would so <br />improve library operations and services and said that other <br />departments in the City are automated, and nearly every public <br />library in the area is also, as are the school libraries. <br />Mrs. Wood reported the March 29 Friends of the Library book <br />review /luncheon at the Paris Golf and Country Club would be <br />"Letters of the Matchmaker" by noted Dallas performer Gloria <br />Hocking. Tickets would be $15 and checks can be sent to the <br />Library or to Mrs. John Neuman, 4125 Jasmine Street. Mrs. Wood is <br />making the table reservations. <br />Ms. Lewis introduced the new Reference Librarian Mrs. David <br />(Priscilla) McAnally, 1205 S.E. 20th. She has a B.S. from East <br />Texas State University and a Masters in Library Science from North <br />Texas State University. She had worked previously as a Library <br />volunteer. <br />The meeting adjourned after deciding the next meeting would be <br />March 24 because of spring break.. <br />hi a4a 1993 <br />Date Approved Frances A.
