Ms. Lewis discussed the status of automation, saying the City's cut
in the 1992 -1993 budget caused the deletion of the request for the
$38,000 needed from the City to purchase the automated system. She
felt that library automation would happen because it would so
improve library operations and services and said that other
departments in the City are automated, and nearly every public
library in the area is also, as are the school libraries.
Mrs. Wood reported the March 29 Friends of the Library book
review /luncheon at the Paris Golf and Country Club would be
"Letters of the Matchmaker" by noted Dallas performer Gloria
Hocking. Tickets would be $15 and checks can be sent to the
Library or to Mrs. John Neuman, 4125 Jasmine Street. Mrs. Wood is
making the table reservations.
Ms. Lewis introduced the new Reference Librarian Mrs. David
(Priscilla) McAnally, 1205 S.E. 20th. She has a B.S. from East
Texas State University and a Masters in Library Science from North
Texas State University. She had worked previously as a Library
volunteer.
The meeting adjourned after deciding the next meeting would be
March 24 because of spring break..
hi a4a 1993
Date Approved Frances A.
