Ms. Lewis reported on Automation saying she and Mr. Hagood had been studying <br />to be able to purchase needed equipment as reasonably as possible, instead of <br />ordering the entire equipment from one vendor. She is working on bid <br />specifications with bids scheduled to be opened April 5 prior to the City Council <br />meeting April 11. <br />National Library Week will be April 17 - 23 with displays including banners made <br />by young readers, open house on April 19 from 6 to 7:30 PM and April 21 from 4 to <br />6 PM. There will be tours and news stories inviting newcomers to the area to visit <br />for a tour. <br />Mrs. Wood said only 20 tickets remained for the March 21 Book Review Luncheon <br />at noon at the Paris Golf and Country Club when Rose -Marie Rumbley will review <br />The Best of the Old Farmers Almanac. <br />Ms. Lewis said a Texas State Library workshop about the Internet would be held <br />the next day in the Gallery with Virginia Gibbs, Jean Gibson, and Frances Ellis <br />arranging for coffee and afternoon break. The presentor will be Chris Peterson and <br />35 had registered. Luncheon would be up to each person. <br />Mrs. Lewis said there was a need for table cloths for serving tables. Mrs. Gibson <br />suggested a "Want List" of items be developed so Board members and others could <br />contribute.
