PAGE 2 <br />ADVISORY BOARD 03/22/95 MINUTES <br />Ms. Lewis advised the Board the red chairs for the Children's Department have <br />arrived and the yellow table is on order. A program evaluation is in place to <br />determine what level of programs will be best for Saturdays, beginning in <br />September. <br />The Volunteer Recognition event will be a luncheon Monday, April 10 in the <br />Gallery. Upon motion by Jean Gibson, seconded by Jackie Alsobrook, the Board <br />voted unanimously to have Texas Belle cater the meal. Ms. Lewis advised that <br />library logo notepads and pencils would be the gifts for the volunteers. <br />Ms. Lewis advised that the week of April 10 -15 is National Library Week and there <br />would be special displays and book collections in the Library. The Saturday <br />program would feature popular storyteller "Sooty John" Rendsland. <br />Kathie Gibbs reported the Friends of the Library luncheon earned $1,300 for the <br />Children's Department. Ms. Lewis asked if there could be a $9 "spring sale" on the <br />tote bags in order to sell more, and the consensus was positive. <br />The Director advised she would be presenting a book talk about Liz Carpenter's <br />books at a benefit luncheon for the Lamar County Chapter of the American Red <br />Cross on March 30. <br />She said that Assistant Director, Priscilla McAnally and Children's Librarian, Emily <br />Kirkman, would accompany her to the upcoming Texas Library Association <br />Conference in Dallas. <br />Meeting adjourned at 4:45 PM and then Board members took a tour of the new <br />automated system and were given a demonstration by Gaylord's trainer, John <br />Schuster. <br />: - - - -- =`-' =-------------- - - - - -- C}k\�ACZ -S ------------------- <br />---------- ----- - - - - -- <br />Acting Secretary, Beverly Lewis Date Approved <br />
