The Display Committee set 10 A.M., November 28 to change the <br />displays in the large cases in the Library. <br />Mrs. Campbell advised the reserve book policy has been revised <br />and titles would only be held 5 days (instead of the previous <br />ten) after the patron had been contacted. This will expedite <br />circulation of popular items. <br />Eric Tate moved the Holiday Grace Period on fines be started at <br />once, motion seconded, discussed, and passed. <br />Mrs. Campbell reported all staff members are scheduled to work <br />at the circulation desk during the next two months. She also <br />noted the procedure of checking for overdues and collecting <br />fines at the circulation desk before a patron could check out <br />new materials had been discontinued. <br />October memorials and gifts totaled 96 and the new $15 minimum <br />has apparently made no difference because patrons understand <br />the rising cost of books. <br />The Endowment Funds earned $7,719.07 in interest last year. <br />The City Finance Director, per Board request, reinvested <br />$97,000 for one year in the United Savings Association at <br />8.550. Also, a news article and a picture was made for The <br />Paris News of the Board Chairman presenting the check to the <br />Library Director. <br />Mrs. Campbell distributed a letter expressing her appreciation <br />for the Board's support during her first year as Director. <br />Mrs. Haslam said in her Friends Membership Renewal letter she <br />asked members to serve as docents for the Bywaters Exhibit and <br />Mrs. Frank (Keitt) Woods would chair the committee. <br />Mrs. Gibbs invited the Board to meet at her home for the annual <br />Christmas meeting on December 20. <br />The meeting adjourned at 5:15 P.M. <br />Date approved: uC�tLy 1 i3 `� By: <br />Frances Ellis, Secretary <br />
