Library Advisory Board <br />June 23, 2004 <br />Page 2 <br />In the Director's Report, Betty informed board members that the budget <br />will be submitted by Interim City Manager Terry Townsend to the City <br />Council at Monday, June 28's meeting. A computer automation upgrade <br />may be considered which will cost $106,000. This will be a separate line <br />item in the budget. An Amnesty period from June 14 through June 26 has <br />been in effect to help recover overdue library materials. <br />The Friends of the Library is providing funding for Preschool Story Time <br />on Thursday during the summer reading program. Jeanne Kraft, Friends <br />Treasurer, is attempting to schedule John Erickson, author of the popular <br />Hank the Cowdog series, for the fall program. <br />It was reported that Priscilla McAnally was offered the Director's position <br />replacing Betty Landon. Discussion by the Board followed with concern <br />expressed over the job offer due to the pay grade offered Priscilla and the <br />suggestion that the assistant director's position not be filled. <br />A card and gift from the Board were given to Betty for her retirement. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m. <br />The next meeting will be held on July 21 at 4 p.m. in the Gallery. <br />eborah Hatl <br />Da <br />proved <br />
