PAGE 2 <br />LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD 01/17/01 MINUTES <br />Ms. Lewis advised research is still being done on the placement of the new collection <br />protection system gates in the lobby. The system will be ordered as soon as a final <br />decision is made since the purchase requisition has already been approved. <br />The Library will host a Northeast Texas Library System workshop about signage next <br />month. Upon motion by Fran Neeley, second by Nancee Salzman, it was unanimously <br />approved to fund the February 21 st event by providing morning and afternoon snacks for <br />the approximately two dozen attendees. Board members will welcome everyone that <br />morning. <br />Jimmye Hancock thanked everyone for supporting the Friends during the two years she <br />served as President and she advised Callie Thompson will assume that position in April. <br />The spring benefit luncheon will be in May and will be a book review. <br />Ms. Lewis advised the Board that long -time dedicated volunteer, Board member, and <br />NETLS Lay Representative, Thomas Seay died last month. Upon motion by Rogene <br />Patterson, second by Nancee Salzman, it was unanimously decided to present a memorial <br />contribution to the Library in his name. <br />Ms. Lewis also advised that she would be resigning as Library Director at the end of next <br />month to take a position as director of the public library in Pierre, South Dakota.
