information. If we have other things to discuss, we can certainly meet the 22nd,
but I don't see much point in receiving the reports and meeting the same day."
Dan Smith: "I'm sure the HDR report is going to be a thick one. Are they going to
include a PowerPoint, as if they were going to be here? It would be nice if they
could, because their PowerPoint is kind of an objective summary."
Shawn Napier: "I think our plan would be to let them present their report and
then bring them back February 5th. You would have time to review, and get your
questions together, and have they present and you ask them your questions as they
do their presentation."
Dan Smith: Yeah, but I was saying it would be nice if they could send out their
presentation, if they have it, rather than wading through all the minutia of the
full binder we're probably going to get."
John Kruntorad: "I don't know that we'll have time to go over Pete's presentation
and the HDR presentation on the fifth."
Dan Smith: "I don't think Pete's presentation is going to be very long."
Reeves Hayter: "I'm hoping we're going to get it ahead of time.."
Dan Smith: "Well, we (Paris Economic Development Corp.) meet Tuesday, so
hopefully we'll stay in touch."
Reeves Hayter: "Just sort of a summary of the presentation."
Reeves Hayter: "The other item that Shawn and I discussed with Jim Mathews is
whether or not you would like to have any information from the Texas Parks and
Wildlife Department. Texas Parks and Wildlife has a lot of input when we go to
apply for a permit, new water rights, and things of that nature. If the committee
would like to have a presentation from them, we could try to arrange that."
Ray Ball: "I would also suggest that we have the attorney (Jim Mathews) back
before we make our final recommendation, if we've got some alternatives to
present, what the legal ramifications of those would be, too. If we're going to
send a recommendation to the council that's different, he might advise us yes or
no. There might be a question about recycling the water, or if we go out and
reclaim more water, if we needed a heads -up on how quick we could do that, and so
forth."
Reeves Hayter: "I think we have about five thousand dollars left in his budget. I
think we have enough to bring him back, if that's what the committee wants. I
would suggest we proceed as far as we can on our own, and then bring him up at
the last minute to bless whatever we do."
Reeves Hayter: "The Parks and Wildlife issue, did I hear a consensus on that? Is
there anyone else, any other information that anyone on the committee feels we
need at this point, that we should bring in with outside expertise? In our
conversation with Mathews yesterday, we came to the conclusion that some of these
items that have been proposed as alternate water supplies are possible, but we
