rage #Z Minutes
Also, he stated that he had requested another Sanitation Inspector and the
extra money for Car Allowance was for this, in case we did get another inspector.
Mrs. Norment asked the members their feelings on this since the application had
been made, but not approved, did they want to leave this amount in the budget.
She quoted the newspaper as stating the State would be operating in the red
and it would be unlikely that they would approve another Sanitation Inspector;
therefore the correct amount which was actually needed should be shown in the
budget (3,600.00). This being Car Allowance for two (2) Sanitation Inspectors.
It was generally agreed that requests on the budget should be exactly what was
needed, this making it better to present.
The next item questioned was the Liability Insurance on Dr. Hillhouse. Dr. Casey
volunteered to check into this and see if we could not get the same coverage at
a lower premium.
Association dues was discussed. Mr. Blankenship suggested this remain in the
budget, and his feelings were that the Health Department employees should attend
the Texas Public Health meetings and that expenses should be paid by the Health
Unit. Members agreed on this.
Maintenance on Building and Grounds was discussed and it was agreed to leave the
amount of $3,750.00 for this. Also, the $500.00 on maintenance of Machinery,
Tools, & Equipment was agreed upon.
The amount of $1,500.00 for auditing was discussed and it was decided that this
amount remain, that it probably would not be enough for an audit. It was sugg-
ested that someone from the City or County should be able to guide us in this.
Mrs. Norment stressed the fact. that this is the reason we need a representative,
such as, the City Attorney, City Manager or the County Judge to attend our
meetings for advice on such things, and they asked that the Health Unit advise
them of our meetings with an in,i-tation to attend.
The Appendix was discussed at this time, however, it was agreed that this seemed
more to be guidelines for the Health Unit than an appendix to the budget;
therefore it would be discussed at a later date.
