The motion was made by Mr. Blankenship to approach the City Manager and the County Judge as to their feelings on this and the possibility of it being retroactive. Dr. Casey seconded the motion. Motion carried. Mr. Blankenship made a motion to table the Appendix except for the Retirement Fund, and not to present this to the City and County at this time. The motion carried. Dr. Casey made the motion to approve the budget with the changes that had been made. Motion carried. The purchase of lamps for the examining rooms was discussed and Dr. Casey sugg- ested that Dr. Hillhouse look at his, which will be much cheaper than the ones Dr. Hillhouse had in mind. Dr. Hillhouse agreed to do this. Mr. Pursifull reported on the bids for the trucks, stating that our specifications could not be met, therefore, he will have to prepare another list of specifications and run another ad in the Paris News for bids again. When the bids are opened, they will have to approved by the Board, stating that this should only take a very short meeting. A discussion followed on the prospect of a Board Member being at the meeting when the City Council and Commissioners Court met for a hearing of our budget, and Mr. Blankenship volunteered to be there. Mrs. Ellis made the motion for Mr. Blankenship to represent the Board. Dr. Casey seconded the motion. Motion carried. Dr. Hillhouse said he would call or write Mr. Doty, The City Manager, in regard to the budget and set up a time for a meeting. Mrs. Ellis suggested that the minutes and a letter to the Board Members be sent after the meeting date had been arranged and also to notify them of the Board's next regular meeting, which is Thursday, October 27, at 7:00 P.M. at the Health Unit.
