Dr. Fetner mentioned that Paris Health Services is duplicat-
ing many of our same services. Dr. Strom stated they are a
fore - profit program and their Title XX money should run out
by October 1, 1992 and they will have to close their doors.
Dr. Beachley gave everyone a copy of his Curriculum Vitae.
He stated that he had spent half of his life in Paris and
would like to relocate here again. He and his wife now live
in Carrollton and work in Dallas. He said up front that he
has no plans to be on call for the jail 365 days a year. He
sees this job as challenging and believes in preventive med-
icine to save society money. His first question was when is
the starting date, if he should take the job. Dr. Strom said
we would discuss this later in executive session. Dr. Beachley
stated he would like to work at least 5 more years before re-
tiring.
T.K. Haynes said the health department doctor has never been
expected to see jail prisoners all hours of the night. They
are transported to the emergency rooms at either hospital.
Meeting adjourned at 12:58 P.M.
Respectfully Submitt
