PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />MINUTES <br />The Paris -Lamar County Health Board met on May 28, 1992, at the Holiday <br />Inn. <br />Quorum present: Dr. Richard Bercher, Dr. Bert Strom, Dr. Thomas Cutrell, <br />Mrs. Francis Ellis, Mrs. Ann Norment, Rev. Samuel Evans, Dr. Robert <br />Moseley, and Dr. Wallace Kraft. Others present: T.K. Haynes, Billy Joe <br />Burnett, Latricia Miller, Allan Weatherford, Troy Owens, Glynn Stephens, <br />Michael Malone, Anthony Bethel, and Sharon Seals. <br />Minutes were read by Sharon Seals and then approved. <br />Dr. Strom said the Sub - Committee met on May 18, 1992 and discussed long - <br />range goals for the health department. They talked about grants and that <br />we will need a full -time physician to seek a health district. The City <br />and County agreed on hiring a full -time doctor for $120,000.00 yearly, <br />with a 4 day week and 6 hours at the jail. Dr. Strom reviewed 300 jail <br />charts and found that documentation was limited and charges were extreme- <br />ly high. He stated we need to establish a Formulary for jail medicines. <br />Latricia Miller said they have a well stocked medicine cabinet at the <br />jail. Dr. Strom`s third point was to have an institutional peer review <br />to save money. Dr. Strom made a motion to establish a full -time doctor <br />and clarify the total package. Dr. Cutrell seconded the motion. Motion <br />passed. Dr. Strom said Dr. Fetner will be offered the full -time position <br />first. The full -time doctor will be given a written job description. <br />Latricia Miller spoke to Pharmacist Bill Lancaster. He is willing to <br />help work up the Formulary. <br />Dr. Bercher announced his decision of resignation from the board effect- <br />ive today. <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:44 A.M. <br />Next meeting is scheduled for June 9, 1992, at 6:45 A.M. at the Holiday <br />Inn. <br />Respectfully Submitted,, <br />
