MINUTES OF MEETING
PARIS-LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH
The Paris-Lamar County Board of Health held its regular
meeting on Wednesday, August 19th, 1998, at McCuistion
Reg. Med. Center.
Board members present included Dr. Robert Moseley, Dr. Ed
Clark, Mrs. Ann Norment, and Mrs. Frances Ellis. Others
in attendance included Mr. Mike Malone, Mr. Mike Norby,
Mr. Gary Conwell, Mrs. Carla Rhodes, Mrs. LaDonna Koehn,
Mr. Anthony Bethel, and Mr. Bob Ricks.
The meeting was called to order at 7:16 am, and minutes
from the previous meeting were approved.
Under discussion concerning the purchase of a water bath,
Mrs. Norment made a motion that was seconded by Dr. Clark
that Anthony contact the City Attorney and have him tell
the Board how to proceed, and then follow those
directions. The motion carried.
Under discussion of lab tests, Dr. Clark stated that Dr.
Wilson was going to check with her lab to see if they
could provide services at a better rate. Dr. Clark
suggested taking a package of tests and comparing costs at
different labs. He also suggested looking at lab costs
yearly to get the best deal available.
Anthony passed out monthly reports and noted that there
were two positive HIV tests last month. Dr. Moseley
suggested trying to figure out what is causing the
shortfall in the budget. Dr. Clark suggested looking at
the fee schedule to see if pre-natal tests being done by
the State lab could be done elsewhere cheaper.
The next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, November
4th, at St. Joseph's Hospital. The meeting adjourned at
7:52 am.
Respectfully Submitted,
Aa
lath,_
Bob Ricks
