MINUTES OF MEETING <br />PARIS-LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />The Paris-Lamar County Board of Health held its regular <br />meeting an Wednesday, July 22nd, 1998, at St. Joseph's <br />Hospital. Board members present included Dr. Ed Clark, <br />Dr. Caroline Wilson, Dr. Robert Moseley, Dr. Bert Strom, <br />Mrs. Ann Norment, and Mrs. Frances Ellis. Others in <br />attendance included Mr, Mike Malone, Mr. Scott Foster, <br />Judge Chuck Superville, Mr. Anthony Bethel, Mr. Gary <br />Conw'ell, and Mr. Bob Ricks. <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:08 am, and.the <br />minutes of the previous meeting were approved. <br />Dr. Clark and Dr. Wilson were sworn in as new members by <br />City Attorney Scott Poster. <br />Dr. Clark made a motion that was seconded by Dr. Strom to <br />accept-, the same slate of officers as last year. The <br />motion carried. <br />Under discussion of WIC improvements, Mr. Foster informed <br />the Board that utilizing state funds, items under $15,000 <br />could be contracted without going for bids. Anthony <br />informed the Board that WIC receives Federal money and <br />thinks that anything over $1,000 has to be approved and <br />bids taken. Mr. Foster.stated his office would help in <br />any way on advertising for bids for improvements. Mrs. <br />Norment made a motion that was seconded by Dr. Clark to <br />allow Anthony to advertise for bids for whatever <br />improvements need to be done in the WIC facility. <br />Judge Superville informed the Board that the Post Office <br />facility on.Lamar Avenue will have to be sold, and cannot <br />be given away. Judge Superville stated he would try and <br />schedule a meeting with Max Sandlin's representative to <br />discuss the process with the Board. <br />Anthony informed, the Board of the results of the water lab <br />inspection performed by the State Health Department. Our <br />circulating water bath needs to be replaced at a cost of <br />approximately $2,000. Dr. Strom suggested looking at a <br />panel of lab tests to allow or dis-allow in order to <br />control lab costs. Dr. Strom also requested to know the <br />amount of drug tests performed for the City and County. <br />Anthony passed out monthly reports. <br />The next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, August 1.9th, <br />at McCuistion Reg.
