City Council Drainage Study Committee <br />August 16, 2000 <br />Page 5 <br />are under the ground, which are full of mud, and in the 900 block you will see on the <br />west side, the ditch that was there, which has been covered over by the church. Mr. <br />Biggs said the water can not go anywhere. Mr. Biggs presented pictures showing the <br />drainage problem stating that it tries to go east on Campbell Street, but it can not. He <br />said it goes all over the yard and washes the top off the sewer manhole and then the <br />sewer mixes into the water. <br />Connie Justice, 1418 Pine Bluff, appeared before the Committee stating she wanted to <br />talk about 6' and Houston Street. Ms. Justices said when it rains real hard it comes up <br />into the building at 570 E. Houston, and it get into the house at 565 E. Houston. <br />Chairman Plata reported that E. J. Griffis, 2230 W. Sherman, 784 -6556, who said he <br />was unable to attend the meeting, wanted him to report that when it rains it floods his <br />house and his backyard. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />BENNY PLATA, CHAIRMAN <br />ATTEST: <br />MATTIE CUNNINGHAM, CITY CLERK <br />
