MINUTES <br />CALLED MEETING <br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />WEDNESDAY, JULY 28, 1982 <br />5:15 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />COUNCIL ROOM - CITY HALL <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />The Board of Adjustment met in a called meeting Wednesday, July 28, 1982 at <br />5:15 P.M. with the following members present: <br />1. <br />F.D. <br />Mallory III - Chairman <br />4. <br />Richard Nafe <br />2. <br />Dee <br />Cunningham <br />5. <br />John Williams Jr. <br />3. <br />Bill <br />Lightfoot <br />6. <br />Alec Woods <br />Also present was Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development. <br />Chairman Mallory called the meeting to order and declared the public hearing <br />open on the appeal of J.A. Hickman for a variance to Section 9 -501 (1) of <br />the City of Paris Zoning Ordinance on Lot 3, Block A, Belaire Addition located <br />at 225 25th S.E. <br />Mr. Hickman was present and explained his need to extend the front of his <br />garage 8 feet into the required front yard. He stated this was necessary <br />in order to provide space for a utility room. <br />Mra. Williams stated as there was no objection from adjacent property owners <br />he was in favor of granting the variance. <br />Mr. Nafe said he could see no objection if there was room for a car to be <br />parked in the driveway outside the proposed garage front. <br />Mr. Lightfoot said the proposed front wall would be 17 feet from the property <br />line and approximately 28 feet from the curb which should offer no distraction <br />to the neighborhood. <br />Following discussion Mr. Williams made a motion to allow the variance.
