The public hearing was declared open. Ray Spencer spoke in favor of the petition stating that he already owns property around this lot and would like to make all of the property the same. He has no specific purpose for this property at this time. There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. 5. Consideration of and action on the petition of Ray Spencer for a change in zoning from a One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a General Retail District (GR), Lot 12, City Block 222 -B, being number 2636 E. Price. Motion was made to approve by Curtis Fendley and seconded by Louis Yates, Jr. Motion carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 1 nay. 6. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Gene Hertzog for a change in zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to an Agricultural District (A) With Specific Use Permit (25) Day Care Center, being the 400 Block of County Road 32900. The public hearing was declared open. Ms. Elizabeth Hertzog spoke in favor of the petition stating that she wants to build a day care for mentally retarded adults (no children). The day care will be licensed by the state with Ms. Hertzog's daughter working there as a registered nurse. Chairman Reeves Hayter expressed concerns regarding the small road going to the property. Ms. Hertzog does not think the road will be a problem. There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. 7. Motion was made to approved by Eddie Vincent and seconded by Bobby Myers. Motion carried by a vote of 7 ayes and 0 nays. 8. Public Hearing to consider the site plan approval requested by Terry Jacobs, Part of Lot 14, City Block 259, being the 2900 Block NE Loop 286. 9. This item was tabled at the November 6, 2000 meeting. Should the Commission wish to consider this matter tonight, a motion to bring this item from the table is required. Motion was made by Curtis Fendley for the item to be brought from the table and seconded by Louis Yates, Jr. Motion carried by a vote of 7 ayes and 0 nays. The public hearing was declared open.
