No one appeared for or against the petition, and Mayor Fisher declared the public hearing closed. A motion was made by Councilman Shelton to table action* on this matter. The motion was seconded by Councilman Burnett, and carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Fisher declared the public hearing open on the petition of Chance, Inc., for a change in zoning from a Multi- Family Dwelling District No. 1 (MF -1) to a Multi- Family Dwelling District No. 1 (MF -1) and Specific Use Permits - Institutions of Religious 'or Philanthropic Nature (24) and Day Care Center (25) on Lots 6, 7, and 8, City Block 151, located at 681 S. W. 7th Street. Mayor Fisher called for proponents to appear, and Linda Crain, 647 7th S. W., Director of Chance Inc., appeared before the Council, telling them that Chance, Inc. has purchased the building known as 7th Street Baptist Church, and they plan to move their office to this location along with their child care services. Councilman Bell question Ms. Crain regarding purchasing the property before rezoning. City Manager Malone told the Council that the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission was to approve the zoning change with a variance being granted to allow suitable fencing in. front of the building. City Attorney Haynes advised that there had been an agreement between Change and Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, that Chance would build their fence on the building line; therefore, the variance was not necessary. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Burnett authorizing preparation of an ordinance changing the zoning from a Multi - Family Dwelling District No. 1 to a Multi- Family Dwelling District No. 1 and Specific Use Permits - Institutions of Religious or Philanthropic Nature and Day Care Center on Lots 6, 7, and 8, City Block 151, to be presented at the next regular Council meeting. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, presented the Replat of Lots 2, and 3, S.S.L.A. Commercial Addition. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett for approval of the replat of Lots 2 and 3, S.S.L.A. Commercial Addition. The motion was seconded by Councilman Shelton, and carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mr. McCollum presented the Final Plat of Lots 17 and .18, City Block 201 for approval. A motion was made by Councilman Shelton, seconded by Councilwoman Smith for approval of the Final Plat of Lots 17 and 18, City Block 201. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
