District No. 2 (SF -2) to a Neighborhood Service District (NS) on Lots <br />25 and 26, Block 3, Mayor Addition located at 50 N. W. 32nd Street. <br />No one appeared for or against the petition, and Mayor Fisher declared <br />the public hearing closed. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Shelton to table action* on this <br />matter. The motion was seconded by Councilman Burnett, and carried 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Fisher declared the public hearing open on the petition of <br />Chance, Inc., for a change in zoning from a Multi- Family Dwelling <br />District No. 1 (MF -1) to a Multi- Family Dwelling District No. 1 (MF -1) <br />and Specific Use Permits - Institutions of Religious 'or Philanthropic <br />Nature (24) and Day Care Center (25) on Lots 6, 7, and 8, City Block <br />151, located at 681 S. W. 7th Street. <br />Mayor Fisher called for proponents to appear, and Linda Crain, 647 7th <br />S. W., Director of Chance Inc., appeared before the Council, telling <br />them that Chance, Inc. has purchased the building known as 7th Street <br />Baptist Church, and they plan to move their office to this location <br />along with their child care services. <br />Councilman Bell question Ms. Crain regarding purchasing the property <br />before rezoning. <br />City Manager Malone told the Council that the recommendation of the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission was to approve the zoning change with a <br />variance being granted to allow suitable fencing in. front of the <br />building. <br />City Attorney Haynes advised that there had been an agreement between <br />Change and Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, that Chance <br />would build their fence on the building line; therefore, the variance <br />was not necessary. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Burnett <br />authorizing preparation of an ordinance changing the zoning from a <br />Multi - Family Dwelling District No. 1 to a Multi- Family Dwelling <br />District No. 1 and Specific Use Permits - Institutions of Religious or <br />Philanthropic Nature and Day Care Center on Lots 6, 7, and 8, City <br />Block 151, to be presented at the next regular Council meeting. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, presented the Replat <br />of Lots 2, and 3, S.S.L.A. Commercial Addition. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Burnett for approval of the replat of Lots 2 and 3, S.S.L.A. <br />Commercial Addition. The motion was seconded by Councilman Shelton, <br />and carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. McCollum presented the Final Plat of Lots 17 and .18, City Block 201 <br />for approval. A motion was made by Councilman Shelton, seconded by <br />Councilwoman Smith for approval of the Final Plat of Lots 17 and 18, <br />City Block 201. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
