The <br />Railroad Company has not joined in the petition, but has signed a <br />waiver. Mr. Hutchison said there were no objections to the City of <br />Paris retaining utility easements. <br />No one else spoke on the matter and the public hearing was declared <br />closed. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the following petitions for rezoning: <br />Marcus L. Roden, Lots 1, 2, & 3, City Block 181, from MF -1 District to <br />Office and Specific Use Permit - Mortuary/ Funeral ' Parlor (28) <br />District; William Davis Thomas, Lot 25, City Block 296, from <br />Commercial District to Commercial and Specific Use Permit.- Auto Fuel <br />Sales (49) District. <br />Mayor Clifford referred the zoning petitions to the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission for their study and recommendations, and called for a public <br />hearing at the next regular council meeting. <br />Ms. Debbie Burks and Ms. Debbie Anderson representing the Lamar County <br />Historical Society, presenting the City of Paris a copy of a book <br />complied by Debbie Burks of the History of the Paris Fire Department to <br />be placed in the City Clerk's office to become a part of the official <br />city records, and Ms. Burks said in addition they had donated a copy <br />for each of the three fire stations, and placed one in the Paris Public <br />Library. Ms. Burks said as a result of their research, they have <br />obtained a State Historical Marker which will be-place at the Central <br />Fire Station. Ms. Burks expressed her appreciation to the City for its <br />support and cooperation that they have received on this project, and <br />look forward to working with the City again. <br />Mayor Clifford thanked Ms. Burks and Ms. Anderson for the donation, and <br />expressed the Council's appreciation. <br />Mayor Clifford declared the public hearing open on property determined <br />by the Building Hazard Inspection Committee to be a fire hazard and /or <br />dilapidated or dangerous structures and /or a nuisance, and called for <br />anyone who wished to speak. <br />City Manager Malone requested the Council refer to packet item No. 3B, <br />the report of the Building Hazard Inspection Committee, Item No. 19, <br />1016, Shiloh, Lot 6, City Block 86, and pointed out that the owner of <br />this property did not appear before the Building Hazard Inspection <br />Committee, he did send a note stating that he would like to repair the <br />house, and if he does not appear tonight, then no consideration should <br />be given to his request, if he does appear it is the Council's <br />decision if he is to be given any further consideration. <br />George Preston, Attorney, representing Mrs. E. L.
