Ms.. Dorothy Ballard, 805 13th N. E., and Ms. Myra Ballard appeared before <br />the Council requesting paving of 13th Street from Tudor to Grove. Ms. <br />Ballard stated this was a dirt street in need of paving, that water <br />washed over the street during wet weather. <br />City Manager Malone suggest this be referred to the Street and Drainage <br />Committee to develop a consensus regarding policies and improvements to <br />r dirt and gravel street within the city. At the present time the funds <br />- are not budgeted to upgrade dirt or gravel streets. City Manager Malone <br />said there would have to be amendments made, or money budgeted in the <br />next physical year for this purpose. City Manager Malone also advised <br />that at one time there was a gravelization program and under that <br />program the city upgraded streets by providing additions to the base, and <br />double seal coating which made a hard surface street. <br />Mayor Burnett set a date of April 18, 1988 at 4:30 P. M. for a meeting of <br />the Street and Drainage Committee to study the above requests and make <br />recommendations to the Council. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that the next item on the agenda was <br />consideration and action on previously authorized Ordinances. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 88 -011 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS AN-D CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF <br />SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL (C) ON LOT 14 -A, AND PART OF LOT 19 <br />CITY BLOCK 107 -C, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO WELDON HOUCHINS, SO AS TO <br />INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A AGRICULTURAL (A); AND <br />DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL (C) SO ESTABLISHED <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Kent, seconded by <br />Councilman Clifford for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 88 -012 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 8 -10(C) OF <br />SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR THE REVISION OF THE HUNTING REGULATIONS AT LAKE <br />CROOK; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $500.00; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; - AND PROVIDING FOR <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MAY 1, 1988 <br />was presented. A motion was. made by Councilman Fendley, seconded by <br />Councilman Wortham for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Malone requested that item number 5 -C, revising the <br />Electrical Code of the City of Paris and adopting the national Electrical <br />Code 1987, be tabled for further study, that it be placed on a future <br />agenda. A motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by Councilman <br />Fendley to table-action on item number 5 -C. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />
