Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear, none appeared, and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clifford to table action on this item <br />and refer it back to the Planning and Zoning Commission to consider <br />all properties on Lamar Ave. from 30th and 33rd Streets for Planned <br />Development - Retail zoning. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Bone and carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of <br />Jake Street for a change in zoning on two tracts of land which are <br />part of Lot 2, City Block 328 located on the southeast corner of <br />Bonham Street and Loop 286 S. W.; Tract 1 - 8 acres from a One Family <br />Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a Commercial District (C); Tract 2 <br />- 22.43 acres from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 ( SF -2) to a <br />Planned Development - Housing District (PD -b). <br />Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear, and Mr. Jake Street, <br />2010 Harris, Clyde, Texas, appeared before the Council stating the <br />reason for a Commercial District on 1,170 feet on the Loop was to <br />provide a buffer zone for the residential area that he plans to <br />develop in the future. Mr. Street told the .Council that he feels <br />this would be beneficial to the City of Paris along with giving him a <br />return on his investment. <br />Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear, none appeared, and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />After discussion was had, a motion was made by Councilman Clifford to <br />grant the Commercial District on Tract 1, and Residential on Tract 2, <br />and called for the preparation of an Ordinance to be presented to the <br />Council for their approval. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Bone and carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett called for consideration and action on calling a public <br />hearing to recommend permanent zoning on the 105.62 acre tract <br />annexed by Ordinance No. 87 -084 located on F. M. 79 and 19th N. W. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Fendley, seconded by Councilman Kent <br />calling for public hearings to be set for February to consider <br />permanent zoning on the 105.62 acre tract annexed by Ordinance No. <br />87 -084. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Joe McCollum presented a replat of Lot 12 and 14, Block 2, Harlan <br />Height Addition. A motion was made by Councilman Wortham, seconded <br />by Councilman Kent for approval of the replat subject to the <br />requirements of the City Engineer. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. Craig Hackler, representing Diversified Housing Services Inc. of <br />Houston, Texas, appeared before the Council presenting a proposal for <br />development of the Gibraltar Hotel. Mr. Hackler presented the <br />Council with financial information and background information <br />regarding their company. Mr. Hackler told the Council they planned <br />to renovate the Gibraltar Hotel, which is in excess of 50 years old, <br />
