Resolution No. 87 -030 requesting the active cooperation and <br />participation of the County Clerk of Lamar County and her staff; the <br />Chief Appraiser and Lamar County Lawyers of Lamar County; the <br />Surveyors of Lamar County; and the City Staff, in preventing illegal <br />subdivision of property within the City Limits of the City of Paris <br />within the two mile Extraterritorial Jurisdiction of the City of <br />Paris and in assisting citizens in the lawful subdivision of property <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Hoog, seconded by <br />Councilman Folmar for adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried <br />6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87-030 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has been <br />made aware of the fact that illegal subdivision of lots <br />within the City of Paris has occurred; and, <br />WHEREAS, such illegal subdivision results in hardships <br />upon purchasers or users of such lots and the expenditure of <br />many City of Paris man hours, both of,which could have been <br />avoided had the citizens involved properly subdivided their <br />property prior to the sale or the attempted use of the same; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the cooperation of the County Clerk of Lamar <br />County and her staff; the Chief Appraiser of Lamar County <br />and his. staff; the Title companies of Lamar County; the <br />Lawyers of Lamar County; the Surveyors of Lamar County; and <br />the City Staff, can result in a worthwhile service to the <br />citizens of Paris and Lamar County by working together to <br />assist citizens in the lawful subdivision of property; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the City Council does hereby request the active <br />cooperation and participation of the County Clerk of Lamar <br />County and her staff; the Chief Appraiser of Lamar County <br />and his staff; the Title companies of Lamar County; the <br />Lawyers of Lamar County; the Surveyors of Lamar County; and <br />the City Staff, in preventing illegal subdivision of pro- <br />perty within the City Limits of the City of Paris and within <br />the 2 mile Extraterritorial Jurisdiction of the City of <br />Paris and in assisting citizens in the lawful subdivision of <br />property. <br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of March, 1987. <br />B y Burnett, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Mattie Cunningham, City Cler - <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />Haynes, City Attorney <br />
