The City Manager said that Councilman Francis has pointed <br />out that this restriction has caused a problem in the pumping <br />arrangement that we are presently working with. City Manager Malone <br />advised that a cost estimate has been requested from the Contractor <br />to put a larger pipe in the restricted area, but the Contractor does <br />not want to give a cost estimate to do the work. City Manager Malone <br />explained that this should be corrected before the construction is <br />coupleted at the Water Treatment Plant, and the estimated cost of the <br />change order would be approximately $20,000.00 to $30,000.00. <br />John Buss, Director of Engineer appeared before the Council stating <br />that he does not oppose the proposed change order, but could not <br />recommend it, that he does not know how much the saving would be. <br />After a considerable amount of discussion, a motion was made by <br />Councilman Francis, seconded by Councilman Wortham to authorize the <br />change order to the additions to the Water Treatment Plant Project by <br />force account to correct the suction capabilities of the high service <br />pumps from the clearwell.
