r^ i MJNUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL March 30, 1987 The City Council of the City of Paris met March 30, 1987, 5:15 P. M. in the Council Billy J. Burnett called the meeting to Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, Travis Bone, Addie Bufford, and Mike Folmar. Also Michael E. Malone, City Attorney, T. K. Mattie Cunningham. in special session, Monday, room of City Hall. Mayor order with the following Wortham, Jeff Hoog, Bill present was City Manager, Haynes, and City Clerk, AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE ALLEY, BEGINNING AT THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF KAUfMAN STREET AND RUNNING SOUTH FOR APPROXIMNTELY 154.3 FEET, "IETIMES REFEPRFD TO AS 4TH STREET S. E. AND SC T]ME'S PMTIU D TO AS AN ALLEY; DECLARING NO NECESSITY OR NEED OR SAID ALLY FOR CITY USE OTHER THAN FOR A UTILITY EASENIELV'i' WHICH IS EXPRESSLY RETAINED BY THE CITY OF PARIS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 30, 1987 was presented. Councilman Bone requested to be excused because of conflict of interest. A motion was made by Councilman Hoog, seconded by Councilman Folmar excusing Councilman Bone for the Council meeting. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays, and Councilman Bone departed the Council chambers. A motion was made by Councilman Hoog, seconded by Councilman Wortham approving Ordinance No. 87 -019 closing the Alley, beginning at the South Boundary Line of Kaufman Street and running South for approximately 154.3 feet. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Councilman Bufford made a motion to allow Councilman Bone to return to the Council meeting. The motion was seconded by Councilman Hoog, and carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Resolution No. 87 -034 authorizing and directing the Mayor, Billy J. Burnett to execute a quit claim deed to the alley located at the South boundary line of Kaufman Street and running South for approximately 154.3 feet referred to as 4th Street S. E. to the First Baptist Church as the churcb is the sole and only property owner adjacent to said alley was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Hoog, seconded by Councilman Francis for approval of the Resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays, Councilman Bone not voting.
