r^ <br />i <br />MJNUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />March 30, 1987 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met <br />March 30, 1987, 5:15 P. M. in the Council <br />Billy J. Burnett called the meeting to <br />Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, Travis <br />Bone, Addie Bufford, and Mike Folmar. Also <br />Michael E. Malone, City Attorney, T. K. <br />Mattie Cunningham. <br />in special session, Monday, <br />room of City Hall. Mayor <br />order with the following <br />Wortham, Jeff Hoog, Bill <br />present was City Manager, <br />Haynes, and City Clerk, <br />AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE ALLEY, BEGINNING AT THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE <br />OF KAUfMAN STREET AND RUNNING SOUTH FOR APPROXIMNTELY 154.3 FEET, <br />"IETIMES REFEPRFD TO AS 4TH STREET S. E. AND SC T]ME'S PMTIU D TO <br />AS AN ALLEY; DECLARING NO NECESSITY OR NEED OR SAID ALLY FOR CITY <br />USE OTHER THAN FOR A UTILITY EASENIELV'i' WHICH IS EXPRESSLY RETAINED BY <br />THE CITY OF PARIS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 30, <br />1987 <br />was presented. <br />Councilman Bone requested to be excused because of conflict of <br />interest. A motion was made by Councilman Hoog, seconded by <br />Councilman Folmar excusing Councilman Bone for the Council meeting. <br />The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays, and Councilman Bone departed the <br />Council chambers. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Hoog, seconded by Councilman Wortham <br />approving Ordinance No. 87 -019 closing the Alley, beginning at the <br />South Boundary Line of Kaufman Street and running South for <br />approximately 154.3 feet. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Councilman Bufford made a motion to allow Councilman Bone to return <br />to the Council meeting. The motion was seconded by Councilman Hoog, <br />and carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 87 -034 authorizing and directing the Mayor, Billy J. <br />Burnett to execute a quit claim deed to the alley located at the <br />South boundary line of Kaufman Street and running South for <br />approximately 154.3 feet referred to as 4th Street S. E. to the First <br />Baptist Church as the churcb is the sole and only property owner <br />adjacent to said alley was presented. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Hoog, seconded by Councilman Francis for approval of the <br />Resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays, Councilman Bone not <br />voting. <br />
