After discussion, Mayor Burnett appointed a committee consisting of Councilman Fendley, Councilman Bone, and Councilman Clifford to study the project, and instructed the committee to report back to the Council. A motion was made by Councilman Fendley, seconded by Councilman Wortham to table action on Items No. 11, 12, and 13. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Malone reported that the City Staff was continuing to work on gathering information in preparation of a possible EDA Grant Application, and explained that this type of grant would be 60% of the funding providing by EDA and 40% would be provided by the City of Paris. City Manager Malone stated that this type of grant addressed needs that relates to bring manufacturing jobs to the community, and said he would report back on the progress. City Attorney Haynes reported that there has been a change in the election law, and we will be unable to hold the City Elections on the date required by our City Charter. Mr. Haynes told the Council that the new election date would be the third Saturday in May, unless the City of Paris chooses another uniform election date. After discussion, the Council requested the City Manager, the City Attorney, and the City Clerk to meet with members of the School Boards in order to coordinate the election dates for both the School Districts and the City of Paris. . Mayor Burnett announced that the Council would go into executive session and declared the regular session closed. City Attorney reported on tax suites, and pending litigation. Mayor Burnett declared the executive session closed, and the regular session open. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
