u <br />Chairman Swaim declared the public hearing open on the petition of Earl Jetton for <br />a change in zoning from a One- Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF -3). to a Commercial <br />District (C) on Lot 6, Block A, East Park Addition, located on the west side of, <br />10th N.E., 137 feet south of Clement Road. <br />Mr. Jetton told the Commission he wanted to construct a metal building on this <br />lot for his overhead door business. He said it would be used mostly for storage. <br />In answer to question, he said the building he built on the east side of 10th N.E. <br />was being used as a repair garage and for his office. He further stated that prior <br />to buying the lot, he had talked to residents around it and they voiced no objection. <br />Cleveland Council, 1820 10th N.E. and Harold Griffis, 1820 Fitzhugh; spoke in <br />opposition to the change. Mr. Council said that noise from the garage disturbs <br />people and he was opposed to further commercial development. He presented a petition <br />against the change bearing eleven (11) signatures, 5 of which were verified to be <br />within 200 feet of the Jetton lot. <br />Mr. McCollum stated he had received a telephone call from Margaret Lewis who lives <br />in California who opposed the change. <br />No one else spoke and the public hearing was closed. <br />Following discussion, Mrs. Battle made a motion to recommend denial of the petition. <br />Mr. Hildreth seconded the motion which carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />The Final Plat of Voorhies Estates, located approximately 42 miles from the Paris <br />City Limits was recommended for approval on a motion by Mrs. Smith, seconded by <br />Mrs. Battle. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />The Preliminary Plat of East Park Center was approved on a motion by Mrs. Smith, <br />seconded by Mr. Davidson, subject to the exceptions listed in City Engineer's <br />Memorandum dated June 1, 1987, marked Exhibit A and attached hereto. The motion I� <br />carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />The Replat of Lots 8 and 9, Block B, Oak Creek Phase II was recommended for <br />approval on a motion by Mrs. Battle, seconded by Mr. Hildreth, subject to the <br />exceptions listed in City Engineer's Memorandum dated June 1, 1987, marked Exhibit B <br />and attached hereto. The motion carried 5 ayes,.0 nays. <br />The Final Plat of Lot 3A, City Block 237A was recommended for approval on a motion <br />by Mr. Hildreth, seconded by Mrs. Smith, subject to the exceptions listed in City <br />Engineer's Memorandum dated June 1, 1987, marked Exhibit C and attached hereto. <br />The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />There being no further business to consider, the meeting was adjourned. <br />n. e N.
