page 8 <br />City Manager Malone reported that the Committee for the Upper <br />Stillhouse Creek Sewer Service and the Committee to study the Lamar <br />County Water Supply District's request to connect to the City of Paris' <br />33" Water Transmission Main have met several times and are continuing <br />to meet and will report to the Council at a future date. <br />City Manager Malone reported on the Collegiate Drive Project and the <br />City's overlay project. <br />City Manager Malone reported that there was money left from a TAC grant <br />which a beacon will be purchased for the Airport. <br />City Manager Malone told the Council that a public hearing was held by <br />the Texas Water Commission concerning the amendment to our Texas Water <br />Permit to discharge waste into Hicks Creek and the Red River Basin to <br />operate our Sewer Plant, and our amendment was to discharge treated <br />effluent to irrigate 170 acres of leased land, and it will be 30 -40 <br />days before we know the recommendations of the Hearing Examiner. <br />W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, presented a report on property tax <br />collections for the past three years. Mr. Anderson stated that tax <br />collections through May were 91.71% compared to 1985 -86 - 93.71 %, and <br />1984 -85 - 93.28 %, and estimated the collection for the year would be <br />93.02 %. Mr. Anderson discussed the delinquent tax collection <br />procedures with the Council. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that the.
