s -58 <br />Roy Luttrell appeared before the Council stating that only one bid had been <br />received that being from the Traffic Signals Inc. of Edmond, Oklahoma in <br />the amount of $1,650.00, and recommended the acceptance of the bid which is <br />within the budget. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bone, seconded by Councilman Hoog to accept <br />the bid of the Traffic Signals Inc. in the amount of $1,650.00. The motion <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that the next item on the agenda was consideration <br />and action on authorizing city staff to proceed by force account for <br />maintenance work on the VanZant Bridge. <br />David Tompkins, City Engineer, appeared before the Council and gave two <br />alternative designs for the replacement of the VanZant Bridge. Alternative <br />one is a 6 foot by 6 foot reinforced concrete box, alternative two is a 78 <br />inch reinforced concrete pipe that would provide an open area of <br />approximately 34 1/2 square feet, but VanZant would have to be raised <br />approximately 1 1/2 feet. Alternative one is estimated at $18,500.00, and <br />alternative two is estimated at over $21,000.00. Mr. Tompkins recommended <br />to the Council_ alternative one. <br />After discussion, Councilman Folmar made a motion that this matter be <br />referred to City Staff to handle in the best manner for repairs. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Bone and carried 6 ayes, 0 nays, <br />Councilman Wortham out of the Council chambers. <br />City Manager Malone presented the appointment of Ballard Huddleston as the <br />new Director of Public Works, and requested confirmation by the Council. A <br />motion was made by,Councilman Hoog, seconded by Councilman Bone confirming <br />the appointment of Ballard Huddleston as the new Director of Public Works. <br />The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett called for consideration and action on authorizing an <br />Ordinance revising the Traffic. Parking Map providing for No. Parking Zone <br />on the West wide of the 400 Block of 4th Street S. W. starting at the North <br />curb line. A motion was made by Councilman Bufford, seconded by Councilman <br />Wortham authorizing the preparation of the.Ordinance. The motion carried 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that the Council would go into executive session <br />and declared the regular session closed. <br />Claims and Legal matters were discussed with the City Attorney. <br />Mayor Burnett declared the executive session closed and the regular session <br />open. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />I0� <br />\ tv ��_. � �� ��� _tee. i\ '- V k' <br />
