45-' J <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2161 . <br />WHEREAS, the April 2, 1982 tornado has caused extensive <br />damage and destruction of real and personal property of the <br />citizens of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, monetary contributions are being received by <br />the City of Paris to aid these stricken citizens in their <br />recovery efforts; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it <br />to be in the best interest of the City of Paris to establish <br />a fund to be called the City of Paris Emergency Disaster Fund <br />and authorize the Director of Finance of the City of Paris, <br />H. C. Greene, to receive and disburse funds connected with <br />the tornado disaster and to receive Grant funds from the <br />Federal and /or State governments; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, that a disaster emergency be and the same is hereby <br />declared; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Paris Emergency <br />Disaster Fund, be, and the same is hereby created and the <br />Director of Finance of the City of Paris, H. C. Greene, be, <br />and he is hereby authorized and directed to receive and dis- <br />burse funds connected with the tornado disaster and to re- <br />ceive Grant funds from the Federal and /or State governments. <br />Passed and adopted this 14th day of April, 1982. <br />,a Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />H. Haynes, City Attorney <br />Resolution No. 2162 expressing the appreciation of the City for all persons and <br />all organizations assisting during the tornado disaster was presented. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Graham, seconded by Council= Francis for adoption of the <br />Resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
