MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />May 10, 1982 <br />The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held j <br />Monday May 10, 1982, 7:00 P. M. Mayor Pro Tem Williams called the J <br />meeting to order with the following Councilmen present. . W. C. Francis <br />Larry McGee, Joe Graham George Fisher Jr., Gene McWaters Jr , and <br />Donald G. Wilson. Also present were City Manager, R. W. Sokoll, City <br />Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. <br />Prayer was offered by the Rev. Bob Hanson. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Williams announced that nominations were in order for <br />Mayor for the coming year. Councilman McWaters nominated Councilman <br />Graham and was seconded by Councilman Fisher. There being no further <br />nominations the vote was taken and carried unanimously for Councilman <br />Graham, and Councilman Graham was elected Mayor. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Williams stated that nominations were in order for Mayor <br />Pro Tem. Mayor Graham nominated Councilman Williams and was seconded <br />by Councilman Francis. The vote was taken which showed Councilman <br />Williams elected Mayor Pro Tem unanimously. <br />Mayor Graham assumed his seat at the Mayor's chair at the Council <br />table. <br />Mayor Graham asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of _... <br />previous meetings, furnished to the Council members. There being <br />no corrections the minutes were approved. <br />Mayor Graham announced that the first order of business would be <br />consideration of recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of <br />Doris Carrol for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling <br />District No. 2 to a Two Family Dwelling District on Lot 4, City <br />Block 188 -D, located at 1125 Old Jefferson Road. <br />In that the Planning and Zoning Commission had tabled the item, a <br />motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman McWaters <br />to table the matter. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of <br />Marvin and Glendal Mitchell for a change in zoning from a One <br />Family Dwelling District No. 2 to an Office District on Lot 18, <br />City Block 296, located at 3365 Lamar Avenue. <br />Mayor Graham called for proponents to appear and Glendal Mitchell <br />appeared in behalf of the petition. <br />Mayor Graham asked for opponents to appear and none appeared, and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />
