M. Mayor <br />Graham called <br />the <br />meeting to order with the following <br />Councilmen <br />present: W. <br />C. Francis, <br />Larry McGee, <br />George Fisher, <br />Jr., Gene McWaters, <br />Jr., Walter <br />F. Williams, <br />and Donald G. <br />Wilson. Also <br />present were City <br />Manager R. W. <br />Sokoll, City <br />Attorney, T. <br />K. Haynes, and <br />City Clerk, H. C. <br />Greene. <br />Prayer was offered by the Director of Parks and Recreation, Dick Boots. <br />Councilman Wilson requested an amendment to the May 13th 'Council minutes <br />concerning a motion to grant re- zoning on a permanent basis of the <br />Mobile Home Park in West Paris. The motion should have read Councilman <br />Wilson rather than Councilman Williams. After the amendment, the <br />minutes were then approved. <br />Mayor Graham announced that the Council would consider a previously <br />authorized Ordinance increasing the Hotel -Motel Tax from 3°0 to 4 %. A <br />motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman Wilson to <br />take the item from the table. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2631 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCE, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING ;SECTION 28 -11 <br />AND SECTION 28 -12 OF SAID CODE: PROVIDING THAT THE HOTEL 'OCCUPANCY TAX <br />BE INCREASED TO FOUR (4) PERCENT AND THAT THE USE OF REVENUE DERIVED <br />FROM SAME BE EXPANDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE LAW; <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by <br />Councilman Wilson for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Graham announced that the next item of business would be consider- <br />ation of recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of John <br />Madwell for a change in zoning from a Planned Development, District - <br />Housing to a Planned Development District - Recreation and Day Care <br />Center on Lots 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 4F, 4G, 4H, and 4I, City Block 286 <br />located on the southwest corner of E. Price Street and Collegiate Drive. <br />Neither proponents nor opponents appeared in behalf of the petition <br />and the public hearing was declared closed and <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />I <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710, OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING <br />MAP OF SAID CITY: ESTABLISHING A PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT-RECREA- <br />TION AND DAY CARE CENTER (PD -g) ON LOTS 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 4E, 4F, 4G, 4H, <br />AND 4I, CITY BLOCK 286, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO JOHN MADWELL, SO AS <br />TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A PLANNED DEVELOP- <br />MENT DISTRICT - HOUSING (PD -b); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE <br />PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT - RECREATION AND DAY CARE CENTER (PD -g) <br />SC ESTABLISHED. <br />i <br />i <br />i <br />i <br />I ' <br />I <br />
