Mayor Graham requested the Council to consider authorizing a Resolution <br />for the Main Street Program. After discussion, a motion was made by <br />Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman Wilson authorizing the <br />preparation of the Resolution. The motion carried 5 ayes, 2 nays, <br />Councilman Williams, and Councilman Francis voting nay. <br />Mr. Barry Mainardi, U. S. Conference of Mayors, appeared before the <br />Council and discussed deferred Compensation Plan for the City Employees. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded <br />by Councilman Fisher authorizing the preparation of a Resolution <br />authorizing the offering of a benefit to City Employees. The motion <br />carried 4 ayes, 2 nays, 1 abstaining, Councilman McGee, and Councilman <br />Wilson voting nay, Councilman Francis abstaining. <br />Mayor Graham called for the tabulations of bids for the purchase and <br />installation of a Civil Defense Siren Warning System. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised that only one bid had been received, and <br />that from Ken's Communications, Inc., Wylie, Texas, in the amount of <br />$93,310.00. Director of Parks and Recreation, Dick Boots, appeared <br />before the Council stating that he had observed warning systems at <br />Abilene and Corsicana and recommended the systems now under consider- <br />ation. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Fisher, <br />seconded by Councilman Williams to award the bid to the Ken's <br />Communications, Inc. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2186 authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract with <br />Ken's Communications, Inc. for the purchase and installation of a <br />Civil Defense Siren Warning System was presented. A motion was <br />made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Williams for <br />adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />+I <br />
