fi , i fd } 4 U MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS July 8, 1982 The special Council meeting of the City of Paris was held, Tuesday, July 8, 1982, 5:30IP. M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order with the following',Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, Donald G. Wilson, Gene McWaters, George Fisher, Jr. Also present were City Manager R. W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. Mayor Graham announced that the special Council meeting was called for the purpose ofreceiving bids and awarding bids for sewer pipe for the Pine Creek!Sewer Project. Mayor Graham called for the tabulation of bids, and the following bids were presented: 1. Polyethylene Pipe SDR 26 SDR 21 Dupont Sclaire $35.20 $43.07 Vemco Polymer Piping '& Mat. 37.85 38.40 46.03 National Pipe Improvement 40.02 46.81 48.66 East Texas Service Corp. 41.49 50.69 2. Ductile Pipe Nelson Utility Company $33.78 American Cast Iron Pipe 35.64 3. Clay Pipe Dickey Clay 37.50 4. Concrete Pipe Wall Concrete 19.93 23.63 5. Poly Spiral Pipe Spirole Engineering Sys. 32.50 53.33 Mayor Graham invited representives of Companies present at the Council meeting to make presentations, and the following Companies were represented: Spirole Engineering,System, Wall Concrete Company, Dickey Clay Pipe Company, and Vemco. Councilman Williams entered the Council Chambers and assumed his chair at the Council table during the Wall Concrete presentation. After presentations by the representives of the various Companies, and discussion by the City Council, a motion was made by Councilman Francis, seconded by Councilman Williams to award the pipe bid to The Vemco Company. Mayor Graham called for a vote which showed 3 ayes, 3 nays, Councilman McWaters, Councilman Wilson, and Mayor Graham voting nay. J
