A � J RESOLUTION NO, 2190 WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris did by letter dated March 16, 1982, assure the management of an industrial prospect whose name was unknown at that time that in the event that such concern located ad- jacent to the city limits of the City of Paris that such plant would not be annexed; and, WHEREAS, Kimberly Clark has in relience upon said letter made the decision to located in the Southwest industrial area just outside the city limits; and, WHEREAS,it is fitting and proper that this City Council assure this concern that it intends to honor the letter earlier transmitted; and, WHEREAS, it seems to be in the best interest of the City Council of the City of Paris and its credibility that future councils be encouraged to honor the statement made in the above described letter of March 16, 1982; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That Kimberly Clark Corporation, be, and the same is hereby assured that the current City Council of the City of Paris does hereby give its assurances that the Mayor of the City of Paris' letter of March 16, 1982 addressed to Robert Thompson of The Fantus Company will in all things be upheld; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that consistent with the letter of March 16, 1982 the City of Paris agrees not to annex the property adjacent to the City of Paris being purchased by Kimberly Clark Corporation for a period of seven years from the beginning of production of its products on said property; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that future City Councils are encouraged to uphold the integrity of the City Council in office on March 16, 1982, by honoring the letter above described and attached hereto as Exhibit "A ".
