Mr. Kipp Sullivan, a Consultant in an EDA Project in Arkansas concerning a tornado disaster, appeared before the Council and discussed his work and experience with the project. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Francis to approve the City making application for an EDA Grant. The motion carried 4 ayes, 1 nay, Councilman McWaters voting nay. Resolution No. 2195 authorizing the City Manager to make application to EDA for a grant was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Francis approving the Resolution. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. RESOLUTION NO. 2195 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore in Resolution No. 2165, authorize the application:f-or Special Economic Development and Adjustment Assistance, EDA Section 304 Grant; and, WHEREAS, such Grant has been approved and it is necessary that the City of Paris accept the same by execution of contract with the Texas Department Of Community Affairs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE.IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: 1. That Robert W. of Paris, Paris, Texas, and directed to execute the Texas Department of attached hereto as Exhil Sokoll, City Manager of the City be, and he is hereby authorized the contract of acceptance with Community Affairs in the form pit "A" 2. That Robert W. Sokoll, City Manager of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be and is hereby further directed to execute any other contracts with the Governor's Office of the State of Texas or with the Economic Development Administration of the Federal Government necessary to procure all grants resulting from the application for grants heretofore authorized in Resolution No. 2165 of the City of Paris.
