MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 1, 1982 <br />37 /r <br />The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Pariswas held Monday, <br />March 1, 1982, 6:00 P. M. Mayor Burnett called the meeting to order with the <br />following Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, Walter F. Williams, Larry McGee, <br />Travis Wortham, and Joe Graham. Also present were City Manager R. W. Sokoll, and <br />City Clerk, H. C. Greene. <br />The special meeting was convened at Montgomery's Exxon Service Station Highway <br />82 West, Route 5, Paris, Texas. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that the special meeting was held for the purpose <br />of annexation of property on the south side of Highway 82 West, and Mayor <br />Burnett declared the public hearing open on the annexation. No one appeared <br />for or against the annexation. The City Council viewed the property to be <br />annexated and viewed a map presented by the Director of Community Development <br />Joe McCollum of the annexated area. <br />Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing closed at 6:10 P. M. and declared <br />a recess for the Council to reconvene at City Hall. <br />The Council reconvened at City Hall at 6:25 P. M. with all members present <br />including City Attorney Haynes, and with Councilman Kohls absent. <br />Mayor Burnett <br />announced that the <br />next order of business would be receipt of <br />tabulation of <br />bids for lights at <br />Record Park and <br />the following bids were <br />presented: <br />Watson <br />Electric Service, <br />Paris, Texas <br />$3,575.00 <br />Green's <br />Electric Service, <br />Paris, Texas <br />$4,163.10 <br />Amfac <br />Electrical Supply, <br />Paris, Texas <br />$3,570.00 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Graham to <br />accept the bid of Amfac Electrical Supply, Paris, Texas in the amount of <br />$3,570.00. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett called for the tabulation of bids for bleachers at Record Park <br />and the following bids were presented: <br />Southern Bleacher Co., Graham, Texas $1,965.00 <br />Modlin Recreation Equipment, Inc., Arlington $1,860.00 <br />A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman Graham to accept <br />the bid of Modlin Recreation Equipment Inc., Arlington, Texas in the amount of <br />$1,860.00. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2145 authorizing the procurement of right -of -way easements for <br />Johnson Park Drainage Project was presented. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Williams, seconded by Councilman Wortham for adoption of the Resolution. The <br />motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
