606 <br />City Attorney Haynes presented previously authorized Ordinance concern- <br />ing properties at 401 and 405 E. Grove Street which were included in <br />the bid. <br />ORDINNANCE NO. 2660 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2649, PASSED ON THE 13th DAY OF <br />SEPTEMBER 1982, PERMITTING TIME FOR REPAIR OF STRUCTURES OTHERWISE <br />DECLARED DILAPIDATED AT 405 EAST GROVE, LOT 7, BLOCK 74 -C AND 401 <br />EAST GROVE, LOT 6, BLOCK 74 -C BELONGING TO JIMMY LEE FURTCH, PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF NOVEMBER 8, 1982. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman McWaters, seconded by <br />Councilman Williams for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Acting City Manager Greene submitted staff recommendation to award <br />items 1, 3, 10, 11, 14, 15, and 18 to Ferris Construction Company <br />in the amount of $4,195.00 and items 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, 13, 16, and 17 <br />to Lester Brothers in the amount of $4,500.00. Councilman McWaters <br />made a motion to award as recommended by Acting City Manager Greene. <br />Councilman McGee seconded the motion which carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Graham advised the Council that a public hearing was necessary <br />for the proposed Fuel Storage and Access Ramp at Cox Field to be <br />partially funded by a grant from the Texas Aeronautic Commission and <br />called for a motion to set the hearing for December 13, 1982. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman McGee <br />to set the hearing at that time. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Acting City Manager Greene requested authorization to advertise for <br />bids for Polygraph Equipment for the Police Department. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Wilson to <br />authorize the request for bids. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Greene presented the request of Larry Haynes for water <br />service outside the City Limits on FM 79 stating it was for a <br />commercial structures. Councilman McGee made a motion to approve the <br />request, Councilman Williams seconded the motion which carried 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Graham announced the next item was to consider the request of <br />Wayne Brown for City participation in providing water and sewer <br />service to the East Paris School property. Acting City Manager <br />Greene explained that Mr. Brown had purchased lots on this property <br />and had erected two houses based on city maps indicating both water <br />and sewer lines were. available for use. The maps indicated a 2" <br />water main which was only 3/4" and a 6" sanitary sewer which was not <br />in place. <br />Plans and estimated costs were presented and the City Engineer <br />discussed some alternatives which would benefit other people in the <br />area and provide the service for Mr. Brown's lots. <br />
