Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of Glenn Watson <br />for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 to a Two Family <br />Dwelling District on Lots 1 thru 16, Block 2, Highland Park Addition, located <br />on the north side of Cleveland Street between 20th S. E. and 22nd S. E. <br />Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear and Mr. Glenn Watson appeared <br />in his behalf stating that he proposed to build duplexs on the property. <br />Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear and Mr. John Waldrum appeared <br />representing himself and stating that the property should be maintained as <br />:angle family dwellings. Mr. Waldrum said several persons were in the audience <br />indicating opposition to the petition and requested Mr. Waldrum recognition. A <br />petition of fifty persons was presented to the Council indicating opposition <br />to the petition. Mr. Robert McWhirter appeared before the Council requesting <br />that the neighborhood remain as it was originally desiged to be. Mrs. Don <br />Kosterman, Jr. and Dr. Leon Kelley also appeared in opposition to the re- zoning. <br />Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing closed and <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; <br />ESTABLISHING A TWO- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (2F) ON LOTS 1 THROUGH 16, BLOCK 2, <br />HIGHLAND PARK ADDITION, UPON PROPERTY OF WHICH GLENN WATSON OWNS A CURRENT OPTION, <br />SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE- FAMILY DWELLING <br />DISTRICT NO 2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TWO- FAMILY DWELLING <br />DISTRICT (2F) SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by Councilman <br />Williams to deny the adoption of the Ordinance, and to deny the re- zoning. The <br />motion carried 6 ayes, 1 nay, Councilman Wortham voting nay. <br />Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of John L. <br />Hutchings for a change in zoning from a Multi- Family Dwelling District No. 1 <br />to an Office District on Lot 15, City Block 296, located at 3315 Lamar Ave. <br />Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear and Mr. John L. Hutchings appeared <br />in his behalf stating that the property had been sold to a local Real Estate <br />Broker for an office if zoning is approved. <br />Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear and none appeared and the public <br />hearing was declared closed. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2613 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; <br />ESTABLISHING AN OFFICE DISTRICT (0) ON LOT 15, CITY BLOCK 296, ON PROPERTY <br />BELONGING TO JOHN L. HUTCHINGS, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY <br />DESIGNATED AS A MULTIPLE - FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1 (MF -1); AND DESIGNATING <br />THE BOUNDARIES OF THE OFFICE DISTRICT (0) SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams seconded by Councilman <br />McGee for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
