City Manager Sokoll advised the Council that a request had been made by Mrs. <br />Alvin Grooms to be place on the agenda for the purpose of requesting the <br />Council to reconsider its action regarding the re- zoning decision for Allen <br />Price at 7th Street N. W. and Cherry from 2 Family Dwelling District to Commercial <br />District. <br />Mrs. Florance Sumners appeared before the Council stating that she was a sister <br />of Mrs. Alvin Grooms and appeared in her behalf. Mrs. Sumners stated that Mrs. <br />Grooms was out of town and could not appear before the Council at it's public <br />hearing on the re- zoning of the property and expressed opposition to the zoning. <br />Three other persons appeared in opposition to the re- zoning matter. Mr. Allen <br />Price appeared before the Council speaking in his behalf and in defense of the <br />zoning that had already been made. After further discussion, a motion was <br />made by Councilman Kohls seconded by Councilman Graham to refer back to the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission for consideration the present commercial District <br />zoning on part of Lots 23, & 24, Block 2, Martin Block Addition located on the <br />northwest corner of 7th Street N. W. and West Cherry Street. The motion carried <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett called for the reading of a Resolution concerning the rate request <br />of Texas Power & Light Company. <br />Resolution No. 2149 calling for a public hearing on the rate request for 7:00 P.M. <br />on the 10th day of May, 1982 and suspending the request for 120 days for further <br />study and investigation, and receipt of evidence and public hearing was presented. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman Francis for adoption <br />— of the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
