City Manager Sokoll advised the Council that a request had been made by Mrs. Alvin Grooms to be place on the agenda for the purpose of requesting the Council to reconsider its action regarding the re- zoning decision for Allen Price at 7th Street N. W. and Cherry from 2 Family Dwelling District to Commercial District. Mrs. Florance Sumners appeared before the Council stating that she was a sister of Mrs. Alvin Grooms and appeared in her behalf. Mrs. Sumners stated that Mrs. Grooms was out of town and could not appear before the Council at it's public hearing on the re- zoning of the property and expressed opposition to the zoning. Three other persons appeared in opposition to the re- zoning matter. Mr. Allen Price appeared before the Council speaking in his behalf and in defense of the zoning that had already been made. After further discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Kohls seconded by Councilman Graham to refer back to the Planning and Zoning Commission for consideration the present commercial District zoning on part of Lots 23, & 24, Block 2, Martin Block Addition located on the northwest corner of 7th Street N. W. and West Cherry Street. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Burnett called for the reading of a Resolution concerning the rate request of Texas Power & Light Company. Resolution No. 2149 calling for a public hearing on the rate request for 7:00 P.M. on the 10th day of May, 1982 and suspending the request for 120 days for further study and investigation, and receipt of evidence and public hearing was presented. A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman Francis for adoption — of the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays.
