i <br />City Manager Sokoll advised the Council that representives of the Small Business <br />Adm. would be in Paris beginning the weekend of April 10th, for the purpose <br />of administering grants temporary housing grants, and SBA Loans to citizens <br />in the area. <br />City Manager Sokoll and City Attorney Haynes recommended to the Council that <br />the City license and bond contractors and repairmen and presented a proposed <br />Ordinance. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2616 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY ADDING A SECTION TO BE NUMBERED <br />7 -4; PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING AND BONDING OF CONTRACTORS, BUILDERS, AND <br />REPAIRMEN; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by Councilman <br />McGee for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. Bill Lightfoot appeared again before the Council discussing the formation of <br />a Citizen's Recovery Committee and recommended its formulation. After discussion, <br />Mayor Burnett appointed a committee composed of Councilman Williams, Councilman <br />Wortham, and Councilman Francis to study and make recommendations on the <br />Committee. <br />Mr. Don G. Wilson appeared before the Council and recommended the visable <br />display of building permits in order that the address of the property and <br />the contractors name be clearly discernable. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />BILLY J.
