The motion carried:. <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt advised the Council that the establishment of a Judicial Depart- <br />ment would cause a deletion of $14,160.00 from the Police budget - General Fund. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on the deletion of $14,160.00 from <br />the General Fund Police Department budget. <br />No one appeared for or against the proposition. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing closed. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Williams and seconded by Councilman Fisher to delete $14,160.00 from the Police <br />Department budget. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on the proposition of adding $2,000.00 <br />for funding of the Lamar County Early Childhood Development Program. <br />Mrs. Jackie Roden appeared in behalf of the proposition. <br />No one else appeared for or against the proposition, and Mayor Brunette declared the <br />public hearing closed. A motion was made by Councilman Phiiley and seconded by <br />Councilman Malone to increase the Revenue Sharing budget in the. amount of $2,000.00 <br />for the contribution and funding of the Lamar County Early Childhood Development <br />Program. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on the proposition of adding $700.00 <br />for contribution to the Optimist Club to pay electrical and li:gbting expenses for <br />.the Optimist Baseball Field - Woodall Park. <br />Mr. Norman Davis appeared in behalf of the propositionl. <br />No one else appeared for or against the proposition, and the public hearing was de- <br />clared closed. A motion was made by Councilman Wunsch and seconded by Councilman <br />Fisher to increase the Revenue Sharing budget in the amount of $700.00 to finance the <br />electric and lighting expenses at Woodall Park. The motion carried: 7 ayes,_ 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on the addition to the Revenue Sharing <br />fund of $25,000.00 for improvements to Johnson Street Park. <br />Mr. Leon Williams, Mr. Billy Brown, and Mrs. Billy Gaines appeared in behalf of the <br />project. No one else appeared for or against the project, and the public hearing was <br />declared closed. <br />City Manager Sweatt recommended that .Revenue Sharing money be allocated for the pro- <br />ject and suggested that such money be used for drainage improvements and estimated <br />that culvert and channel costs to be $10,000.00. After discussion, a motion was <br />made by Councilman Wunsch and seconded by Councilman Fisher to allocate $10,000.00 <br />from Revenue Sharing Funds for drainage improvements at Johnson Street Park. The <br />motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on the proposition of adding $251,000.00 <br />for major.thoroughfare paving program development. <br />
