RESOLUTION NO. 1820 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris; Paris, Texas, <br />deemed it advisable to establish a Library Advisory Board to act in <br />an advisory capacity to the City Council; and, <br />WHEREAS, such Board shall study and make recommendations <br />r- concerning library services, maintenance and improvement of faci- <br />lities and capital improvement projects; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the Library Advisory Board is hereby created to consist <br />of seven (7) resident citizens of the City of Paris, Lamar County, <br />Texas, who have knowledge of library affairs, a strong interest in <br />library operations and a genuine appreciation of books; and, <br />. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That such board members shall <br />be appointed by the City Council; the initial board shall consist of <br />two (2) members appointed for one year terms, three (3) members <br />for two year terms and two (2) members for three year terms, and <br />thereafter all appointments shall be for three year terms; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That said Board shall exercise <br />all dominion and control over all memorial funds, memorials, and <br />gifts received by the Paris Public Library, in accordance with the <br />directions and instructions attached to each. <br />Passed and adopted this . 8th day of August,. 1977. <br />Greene, City Clerk* <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />T. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Wunsch and seconded by Councilman 14illiams approving the request. <br />
