RESOLUTION NO. 1820 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris; Paris, Texas, deemed it advisable to establish a Library Advisory Board to act in an advisory capacity to the City Council; and, WHEREAS, such Board shall study and make recommendations r- concerning library services, maintenance and improvement of faci- lities and capital improvement projects; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That the Library Advisory Board is hereby created to consist of seven (7) resident citizens of the City of Paris, Lamar County, Texas, who have knowledge of library affairs, a strong interest in library operations and a genuine appreciation of books; and, . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That such board members shall be appointed by the City Council; the initial board shall consist of two (2) members appointed for one year terms, three (3) members for two year terms and two (2) members for three year terms, and thereafter all appointments shall be for three year terms; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That said Board shall exercise all dominion and control over all memorial funds, memorials, and gifts received by the Paris Public Library, in accordance with the directions and instructions attached to each.
