A motion was made by Councilman Malone and seconded by Councilman !4illiams for approval <br />of the resolution. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette called for a tabulation of the bids for a motor scooter for the Police <br />Department that had been received. City Manager Sweatt advised that only one bid had <br />been received from the Watson Distributing Company, Dallas, Texas, in the amount or <br />$4,161,00 less trade -in of $650.00 - net $3,511.00. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Malone and seconded by Councilman Wunsch to approve the bid of the Watson Distributing <br />Company, lie motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette called for tabulation of bids on duplicating equipment for the Adminis- <br />trative Department, and the following bids were received: <br />Gestetner Corp. <br />DUPLICATOR STENCIL MAKING MACHINE, <br />M 460 1,462.50 <br />M 420 1,102.50 <br />M 473 2,517.50 <br />M1100 1,828.75 <br />Office Equipment Center <br />Bohn Rotary <br />RR 750 W 929.00 <br />RR 22025 1,479.00 <br />City Manager Sweatt recommended that the bid of the Office Equipment Center be ap- <br />proved, conditioned on the'equipment meeting specifications and a satisfactory de- <br />monstration. A motion was made by Councilman Wunsch and seconded by Councilman Wil- <br />liams approving the recommendation of the city manager. The motion carried: 7 ayes, <br />0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette advised that the next order of business would be consideration of an <br />ordinance previously authorized relating to the revised billing dates of Water and <br />Sewer service charges. Ordinance No. 2345: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BE <br />AMENDED BY REVISING SUBPARAGRAPHS (a) AND (b) OF SECTION 31 -25 <br />OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR THE METHOD OF WATER AND SEWER SER- <br />VICE BILLING; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN <br />CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF <br />SEPTEMBER 1, 1977." <br />was presented, A motion was made by Councilman Wunsch and seconded by Councilman <br />Williams for the adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette called for tabulation of bids received for an emergency rescue deck boat, <br />motor and trailer, and the following bids were received: <br />Bob's !Marine $4,648.50 <br />Pick's Marine $4,155.00 <br />The city manager recommended that the low bid of Pick's Marine in the amount of $4,155.00 <br />be approved. A motion was made by Councilman Malone and seconded by Councilman Fisher <br />to approve the -bid of Pick's Marine. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />4 <br />City Manager Sweatt presented the amended rules and regulations of the Civil Service <br />Commission to the Council and recommended their approval, such changes to'be identifieA <br />on sheets in the regulation as 7- 19 -77. A motion was made by Councilman Williams and <br />seconded by Councilman Wunsch to approve the amended rules and regulations of the Civi <br />Service Commission. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt presented a request from Mr. J. V. Hamilton for water service out- <br />side the City limits from an existing City owned line on FM 79 and recommended its ap- <br />proval with conformance to City policy and regulations. A motion was made by Council- <br />man Williams and seconded by Councilman Fisher approving the request of Mr. Hamilton. <br />The motion carried.- 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt requested authorization to advertise for bids for approximately <br />500 linear feet of fencing at the fire training field. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Wunsch and seconded by Councilman Williams approving the request. The motion carried: <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
