A motion was made by Councilman Fisher and seconded by Councilman ?Malone <br />for the adoption of the ordinance,, The notion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on the petition of C. E. Brownlee for a <br />change in zoning from a General Retail District to a General Retail District and Spe- <br />cific Use Permit - Commercial Amusements Indoors on Lot 11, Block 11, Brookside Addition, <br />located on the north side of Clarksville Street 150 feet east of 24th S. E. <br />Mayor Brunette called for proponents to appear, and 14r. Brownlee appeared in his own <br />behalf, stating that young people need a recreation area and that pin ball machines and <br />pool tables would be provided for recreation. Mr. Vernon Sims and Mr. James Moseley <br />appeared, speaking in behalf of Mr. Brownlee's character. <br />Mayor Brunette xalled for opponents to appear. done appeared and the public hearing <br />was declared Closed. <br />Ordinance No. 2347: <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS! PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED 113Y <br />THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A GENERAL RETAIL DIS- <br />TRICT (GR) AND A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, COMMERCIAL AMUSEMENT, IN- <br />DOORS (10), LIMITED TO THE USE OF C. E. BROHNLEE ONLY, ON LOT <br />119, BLOCK 11, BROOkSIDE ADDITION, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO <br />CLYDE PARHAM, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DE- <br />SIGNATED AS A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR); ';ND DESIGNATING <br />THE BOUNDARIES OF THE GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) AND SPECIFIC <br />USE PERMIT, COtfIERCIAL AMUSEMENT, INDOORS (10), LIMITED TO <br />THE USE OF C. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on the petition of Cecil Anderson for <br />a change in zoning from a One- Family Dwelling District #2 to a General Retail District <br />on Lots 8 and 9, City Block 224,111, located on the south side of Lamar Avenue between <br />21st S. E. and 22nd S. E. The Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended approval <br />of the petition. <br />Mayor Brunette called for proponents to appear, and Mr. Webb Biard, Attorney, appeared <br />in behalf of the petitioner, stating that a real estate office was proposed for Lot 8 <br />and a proposal had been made for the establishment of an ice cream parlor for Lot 9. <br />Mayor Brunette called for opponents to appear, and none appeared. The public hearing <br />was declared closed. <br />Ordinance No. 2348: <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZOMIMG ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY <br />THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A GENER.'1L RETAIL DIS- <br />TRICT (GR) ON LOTS 8 AND 9, CITY BLOCK 224A, OM PROPERTY BELONGING <br />TO CECIL ANDERSON, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY <br />DESIGNATED AS A ONE - FAMILY DIVELLIMG DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); -1ND <br />DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE GEIIIERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) <br />SO ESTABLISHED." <br />was presented.
