954 <br />Mayor Brunette declared the nublic hearing on the annexation and zoning on 27.68 <br />acres of land known as Part 8, Morningside Estates. <br />Mayor Brunette called for opponents or proponents to appear, and none appeared. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing closed. <br />City Manager Sweatt advised that a special Council meeting would be necessary for <br />introduction of the Annexation Ordinance in its final form and suggested April 25, <br />1977, as a date at which to consider the ordinance. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Swaim and seconded by Councilman Hinds approving the recommendation of the city <br />manager.The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt presented a re -plat of Lots 1 and 2, Block T, Morningside Estates, <br />Part 8, and recommended its approval. A motion was made by Councilman Swaim and se- <br />conded by Councilman Williams to approve the re -plat, subject to the recommendation -s <br />of the Director of Public Works. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the following petitions for re- zoning: Mrs. George - <br />Serur, Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, Block 2, Brookside Addition, from Single Family <br />Dwelling District to Two - Family Dwelling Districts Mr. Lowry Carrington, a lot in <br />City Block 2486 from Single Family Dwelling District to Office District and appro- <br />priate zoning for health spa as determined by the Planning and Zoning. Commission and <br />City Council. <br />Mayor Brunette referred the petitions to the Planning and Zoning Commission for their <br />study and recommendation and called for a public hearing at the next regular Council <br />meeting. - <br />Mayor Brunette advised that the next order of business would be recommendations of the <br />Traffic Commission made at its meeting on April 5, 1977. City Manager Sweatt advised <br />that the Traffic Commission had recommended stop sign placement at 20th Street N. E. <br />intersections with Hickory Street, Ballard Drive, Harrison Street, Fairfax Street, <br />Kyle Street, and Beverly Drive. A motion was made by Councilman Hinds and seconded by <br />Councilman Philley authorizing the preparation of an ordinance to be presented at <br />the next regular Council meeting. The motion.carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt advised the Council of the recommendation of the Airport Advisory <br />Board recommending approval of a permit for Mr. James M. Wrenn, Jr. for pilot training <br />and agricultural operation at Cox Field Airport. After discussion, a motion was made <br />by Councilman Hinds and seconded by Councilman Swaim approving the recommendation <br />of the Airport Advisory Board. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt presented the following ordinance, previously authorized, con- <br />cerning food handlers. Ordinance No. 2322: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS BE AMENDED BY REVISING <br />DIVISION 3 AND SECTIONS 13 -59 THROUGH 13 -63 OF SAID CODE, PROVIDING <br />FOR A FOOD HYGIENE DECAL FOR FOOD ESTABLISHMENT OPERATORS; PROVIDING <br />FOR A PENALTY.:NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS <br />OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH,$ AND PROVIDING FOR-AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE OF MAY 1, 1977." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams and seconded by Councilman <br />=Ston.e for the adoption -of the ordinance. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays.. <br />
