9 7 =3 RESOLUTION NO. 1804 WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is a member of the Ark -Tex Council of Governments; and, WHEREAS, in accordance with the Bylaws of the Art: -Tex Council of Governments the Board of Directors of same shall be composed of members elected or appointed by the membership; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris is entitled to appoint three mem- bers of the Board of Directors of Ark -Tex Council. of Governments as provided in the Bylaws of the same; and, WHEREAS, James M. Brunette, Mayor of the City of Paris, recommends the appointment by the City Council of the City of Paris of Michael E.- Malone and George Fisher, Jr. , to serve until their successors are duly qualified or installed or until they become disqualified to so serve; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That Michael E. Malone and George Fisher, Jr. , be, and they are hereby appointed as members of the Board of Directors of Ark -Tex Council of Governments, to serve until their successors are duly qualified or installed, or until they become disqualified to so serve. Doug Weiburg appeared the Downtown Merchants Association and stated that the merchants were prepared to fund 1/3 of the cost of the project with 2/3 being funded by the Texas Department of Community Affairs and requested the City to make application. Resolution No. 1805, authorizing and directing the city manager to make application for a $10,000 grant for a comprehensive study of the downtown business district, was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams and seconded by Councilman Fisher for the adoption of the resolution. The motion carried: 7 ayes, -0 nays.
