9 7 =3 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1804 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is a member of <br />the Ark -Tex Council of Governments; and, <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the Bylaws of the Art: -Tex <br />Council of Governments the Board of Directors of same shall be <br />composed of members elected or appointed by the membership; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris is entitled to appoint three mem- <br />bers of the Board of Directors of Ark -Tex Council. of Governments <br />as provided in the Bylaws of the same; and, <br />WHEREAS, James M. Brunette, Mayor of the City of Paris, <br />recommends the appointment by the City Council of the City of <br />Paris of Michael E.- Malone and George Fisher, Jr. , <br />to serve until their successors are duly qualified or installed or <br />until they become disqualified to so serve; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, That Michael E. Doug Weiburg appeared <br />the Downtown Merchants Association and stated that the merchants were prepared to <br />fund 1/3 of the cost of the project with 2/3 being funded by the Texas Department <br />of Community Affairs and requested the City to make application. <br />Resolution No. 1805, authorizing and directing the city manager to make application <br />for a $10,000 grant for a comprehensive study of the downtown business district, <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams and seconded by Councilman <br />Fisher for the adoption of the resolution. The motion carried: 7 ayes, -0 nays. <br />
