RESOLUTION NO. 1805 . WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Community Affairs has funding- under the "701" Planning and Management. Program of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as aynended, and grants under such program are available on a two- thirds State and one -third local funds basis; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing a grant application for . a comprehensive study of the downtown business district of Paris, Texas, at a total project cost of $15, 000. 00, $10, 000.00 to be provided by grant and $5, 000.00 to be provided by local funds and in kind services; NOW, THERE- FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: 1. That an application be made to the Texas Department of Community Affairs for a grant in the amount of $10, 000. 00, being two- thirds of the estimated costs of the Comprehensive Study of the Downtown Business District of Paris, Texas Project, with the City of Paris providing $5, 000.00 in funds and in kind services. 2. That Kerry R. Sweatt, City Manager of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed, on be- half of the City of Paris, to execute and file such application for grant and assurances of compliance with all of the requirements for said grant, to execute such contract or contracts as may be necessary for the grant applied for, to provide such information and furnish such documents as may be required by said Department and to act as the authorized correspondent and representative for the accomplishment of the project. 3. That Joe N. McCollum, Director of Community Development of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby designated Project Director. Passed and adopted this 9th day of May, 1977. AT "LEST: I-1. C.
